What makes Organize and Stage Your Home different than the KonMari methodology?

Basically it is the flexibility to adapt to your needs.

A Certified Professional Organizer (that’s me - a CPO) customizes the Organizing Approach according to YOU and YOUR lifestyle.  The KonMari method only has ONE way of folding, decluttering and asking the same question over and over again. A CPO is professionally trained to create/plan the best approach to decluttering and organizing your items in your spaces based upon YOUR specific unique needs, desires, situations, life style, and quirks. There are many variations in organizing methods and a CPO is schooled in knowing these. One size does not fit all.

Teresa James with Organize and Stage Your Home evaluates YOUR way of thinking and processing by asking several key questions to understand your clutter and disorganization issues instead of one question: “Does this spark joy?”

Yes, Teresa does find out what you like and don’t like and gets to the core of what you need to keep and not keep but the approach is less overwhelming.  By asking key questions, she is with you every step of the way.

Not everyone can manage a huge mound of clothes dumped on your bed or a large pile of books emptied into the middle of the room (KonMari method). You do know that you have to contend with these piles before you can use the bed or floor?  Organize and Stage Your Home organizing approach is less overwhelming and easy to follow and understand.

Instead, Teresa takes great care with every project so that you are taking logical and manageable steps without disturbing your current spaces and creating another problem.

Your way of learning is also evaluated so you can remain in control of maintaining your items long after our organizing session(s) are completed.  During an organizing session, you will learn how the room and the spaces within (closets, cabinets, drawers, containers, etc.) function for your life style. Together we can make new choices that will support these decisions so that your items can be easily managed and you can stay organized.

Making Your Life Easier.
